Be part of the Love Local movement!
The Love Local initiative had its beginnings at the start of 2022 when the Southern Gulf Island Chambers were awarded a grant by the BC Chambers of Commerce to promote economic activity on their islands through a regional shop local campaign.
As the timing coincided with February and Valentine’s Day, we coordinated a Southern Gulf Island Love Bingo.
Through the Love Bingo contest and our marketing initiatives we encouraged locals to “Share the Love. Feel the Love” and to “Shop. Eat. Stay. Where your heart is”.
Love Local is about …
The intention of the Love Local movement is to support our local businesses especially during the off-season by coordinating local shopping campaigns.
The campaigns are aimed in a fun and encouraging way to educate consumers on the importance of shopping locally and to remind them to do so often.
How you can participate…
Our hope is that with your support, we will build a recognizable “Love Local” brand that contributes to a sustainable, vibrant and entrepreneurial economy here on the other Southern Gulf Islands., especially on your home island.
We are planning to organize at least two Love Local themed marketing initiatives throughout the year, one during the holiday shopping season and the SGI Love Bingo in the spring.
As a member business using the logo you can:
- Show your support for the Love Local movement.
- Leverage specific Love Local campaigns organized by the Chambers.
- Use it to promote your own business goals and values as desired.
